Listen to this, Jerry - it's a movie about nothing. No really. We'll explore Patrick Willems' video that posits Ghostbusters was a film essentially about nothing. What did he mean by that, and can we offer a rebuttal? Find out this week. Also on the show: the Ghostbusters Ectomobile Owner's Workshop Manual gets a preview, the Ghostbusters of North Carolina get some screentime, Ghostbusters pinball is coming to your consoles, and could a proton pack be effective against Pennywise? (Due to technical difficulties, Troy sounds like he's broadcasting from a submarine somewhere off the coast of California. Apologies.)

Up first, Troy and Chris talk Ray Parker Jr.'s appearance in the documentary Hired Gun and the great interview he did with The Movie Guys. Can you believe it's been eight whole episodes since our last proper Crossrip? Just a couple things going on. So join us for the first proper flagship show since episode 208 back in February as Troy and Chris catch you up on all the news that's fit to print. First up, some discussion on both the domestic and international trailers for Ghostbusters (2016), including a dissection of both trailers by the director himself in Verge and Empire Magazines. Paul Feig talked Ghostbusters on the Ellen Show and The Nightly Show with Larry Willmore chatted the newest controversy that has been surrounding the film. The viral marketing campaign begins with the Kenneth Higgins Institute, while Ecto Cooler prepares for its triumphant come back. Michael K. Williams talks his scenes with Slimer... oh, and the in-development Ghostbusters animated film has a new director! So much to catch up on, it's going to take an hour and a half to do it all, so get ready!
It’s getting crazy out there (and something tells us this is just the beginning), so get caught up on everything that happened before this Friday with Troy and Chris. First up, the guys talk about the Ghostbusters.com relaunch, and look in depth at the new imagery for both classic and new Ghostbusters (and discuss the distinction between Classic and New). One of those photos is our first official look of Chris Hemsworth’s character Kevin - why are they withholding his last name and keeping him ambiguous? Is it important to a plot point? Is he a Janine allegory? Especially given his distinctive costume choices? Oh, and as result of the website launch, Paul Feig tells us that a trailer is coming out by the end of the month. Dave and Busters is gearing up for Ghostbusters 2016 with a new photo op display and the guys talk a bit about gameplay of the ticket redemption video that’s out in the wild. New GB16 shirts are showing up at Target as part of a test run, have you found yours yet? We haven’t! Speaking of merch, this magazine Retailer Merchandiser keeps feeding us gold, including our look at some book covers that might actually include our first glimpses of the new redesigned Slimer? Martin Charles the Graphic Designer on Ghostbusters (2016) was profiled by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and discussed a little about what he contributes to a film. Halloween Life interviewed Eldo Ray Estes, whom you might not recognize by name, but you’ll recognize from one very particular soundbite in the first Ghostbusters film. Stern Pinball details have leaked about an upcoming cabinet and the different iterations that are coming (and those details were quickly taken down), but the guys still caught enough of it to chat about. Finally Death and Taxes asked the question that’s always been on our minds: just what was Slimer supposed to be?
New Year, Same Podcast! Welcome listeners old and new to the Ghostbusters Interdimensional Crossrip, a place for news, interviews and commentary on everything Ghostbusters hosted by Troy Benjamin of Ghostbusters HQ and Chris Stewart of Proton Charging! First up as always, a little catch-up on all the news you (we) missed during the holidays: fans got a first image from the new Ghostbusters (2016) right before four, count ‘em FOUR character posters were released to the wild for the new film. Chris and Troy explore the easter eggs and details within those four posters including the graphic design of the classic No-Ghost logo. But where’s that trailer we were expecting? And what was with that eighteen-wheeler trailer that we weren’t? Then, were you among the lucky ones that were able to get a LEGO Ghostbusters firehouse in the 30 minutes that it was on sale and before it sold out? And if so, have you seen all the cool easter eggs in the set? Plus, some rumors of a possible upcoming Ghostbusters (2016) related LEGO set. Speaking of rumors, what are the odds that the artwork that leaked online of a possible Stern Ghostbusters pinball machine might be an indication of a physical pinball machine on the way in the near future? Now that it’s 2016, what can we expect out of the Ghostbusters attraction they’re building at Dubai’s MotionGate theme park? Turns out, their website holds a couple clues. And last but not least, a little discussion on the FAQ released by Anovos on their upcoming line of highly-collectable screen-accurate props and flightsuits. After the news, stick around for a little retrospective on year one of the Crossrip including our favorite moments and you the listeners’ favorite moments. And don’t forget to ask us about Cheez-Its… YES, CHEEZ-ITS!

On this week's news: more information on Ryan Kemp and how you can pay tribute in his memory, lots of IDW and merchandising news out of NYCC including the premise of the new on-going series, Diamond Select's action figure line (and that big-armed Slimer), and some micro-figures from Cryptozoic.
