This week on the show, Ghostbusters (2020) updates, merch news, and a lengthy chat about a tiny detail neither Chris or Troy has ever noticed in the original Ghostbusters! First up, Stranger Things S3 has a new trailer, how does it relate to Ghostbusters, and how excited are the boys? Extreme Ghostbusters is on CTV in the Great White North, and it’s in shiny high-definition. Our Ontario friends are raising money for a good cause and raffling off to win a proton pack. And some merch news. Then, in our 2020 rumor round up, what does JK Simmons know (and how could he be involved) according to Entertainment Tonight? And finally, that detail which an amazing Twitter account pointed out to us - and what does it mean not just for the production schedule, but for the attention to detail the set dec for the original Ghostbusters paid?
One of the most prolific voice actors of all-time, Maurice LaMarche joins the Crossrip this week! Chris caught up with the voice of Dr. Egon Spengler from The Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters (and, as it turns out, a surprising other voice revealed in the show) at Fan Expo Vancouver. LaMarche talks about his early years in the entertainment industry, being a Ghostbuster, and a whole lot more. In addition, we've added some outtakes and archival audio, making this a holiday mix tape of sorts, all about the voice of Egon, stunt burper, master impressionist, and the best Orsen Welles since Orsen Welles.
This week on the show, we're recapping DragonCon and PKE Surge 2017, talking about Extreme Ghostbusters on its 20th Anniversary, and more! First up, remembering Extreme Ghostbusters - how has it already been that long? And why hasn't it gotten a proper home video release? Then the numbers are in and PKE Surge at DragonCon was a huge success! Want to talk t-shirts? 80's Tees has a whole bunch of new ones PLUS that long-teased Crossrip shirt is closer than you may think. There's a lot going on in the world right now, hurricanes, earthquakes, fires... we hope we can take your mind off it all for an hour. This week on the show, we're breaking down the announcement that Zuul is real - and it's a fossilized dinosaur! But before the boys dive into that, first some discussion about the 35th Anniversary (don't worry, you still have time to make your party plans), Extreme Ghostbusters and a VICE article chatting about how it got diversity right, and a little bit about those custom NES New Ghostbusters II cartridges that have been making the rounds on the internet. All that plus a great listener letter and voicemail on this week's Crossrip!

First up, a little recap on the past couple weeks' events, some news on the Motiongate Dubai attraction, Ivan Reitman's comments about the future of the franchise (and his appearance on Canada's Smartest Person), a great article about the evolution of Slimer in Puppetry Journal, Violet Ramis Steel is writing a book about her father, the Ghostbusters of BC made a lucky kid's day, and a whole lot more! Then stick around for discussion on Ghostbusters International #11 and the exciting conclusion to the comic series that's spanned the globe!
It's a bit of a light week in Ghostbusters world because of all that other news currently dominating most folks' attention (is it just us, or is Ghostbusters II starting to feel like a documentary?), but that's not going to stop Chris and Troy from chatting Ghostbusters and there's still plenty to talk about including that Bernie Wrightson concept art, the Titan vinyl figures, some more cool Japanese merch, the Ghostbusters of BC doing a little charity fundraising, and yes - even some Extreme Ghostbusters chat. So come take a break from the tension for a bit and spend an hour with the Ghostheads, eh?
On this week's Crossrip, we're pleased to be joined by the author of the recently released Ghostbusters: The Ultimate Visual History, Mr. Daniel Wallace! Join Troy and Chris for a rundown of all the news that's fit to podcast then an in-depth discussion with Dan on the process of writing a visual history book and stories from behind the scenes. On this week's news: more information on Ryan Kemp and how you can pay tribute in his memory, lots of IDW and merchandising news out of NYCC including the premise of the new on-going series, Diamond Select's action figure line (and that big-armed Slimer), and some micro-figures from Cryptozoic. Or Hugh Jackman for that matter?), Yahoo has a great interview with Paul Feig on spoilers, and NYCC promises Diamond Select Reveals and a scavenger hunt for Ghostbusters: The Ultimate Visual History.
