First up this week, catching up on some news including Ghostbusters VR Chapter Two's release, the VOID opens at Disneyland (sans Ghostbusters), Playmobil Real Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II figures are on the way, and The Toys That Made Us on Netflix. Then, an article on Comic Book Resources on the 15 Dark Secrets of Real Ghostbusters inspires some discussion, what caused the downfall of Real Ghostbusters (and Saturday Morning Cartoons in general)? Stay tuned for the discussion!
This week on the show, VR, Ghostbusters International, slot machines, and horrifying misspellings. First, the boys chat about a few Ghostbusters Day odds and ends including the reaction to some of Ivan Reitman's comments on the future of the franchise, Reitman was also a guest at the E3 Expo talking virtual reality and we have some excerpts of that conversation, Diamond Select showed us a scale illustration of their firehouse diorama and gave us a breakdown of how many pieces will be included. All that and more on this week's Crossrip!
This week on the show, step into a virtual world as we talk to Jake Zim, the Senior Vice President of Sony Virtual Reality, about the new Ghostbusters VR experience on PS4! But first up, there's a whole lot of news - remembering Bernie Wrightson, discussing first impressions of IDW Comics' Ghostbusters 101, SNL going "live" across North America, Spacehunter is coming to Blu-ray (and why should you care?), and Heide Park Resort has started showing off their upcoming dark ride attraction. After the news at around the hour mark, stick around for Chris and Troy talking about their experience with the Ghostbusters VR on Playstation 4 and a brief discussion with Jake Zim of Sony VR about the new experience, the expansion of The Void Ghostbusters Dimension and a whole lot more!
This week on the show, it's the calm before the storm. This weekend is the International Toy Fair in New York, plus a whole bunch of news is on the horizon. So Troy and Chris take this opportunity to talk nerdy about Dana Barrett's apartment and how it may have fared after the interdimensional crossrip that occurred there. Are you legal required to tell a potential tenant that a building had a 50-foot marshmallow man climb it and two of its previous occupants were possessed by demonic dogs?
This week on the show, a little something different - Troy is on vacation with his lovely wife, and he was able to coax her into jumping into the VOID Virtual Reality experience at Madame Tussauds NYC called "Ghostbusters Dimension." If you haven't heard about it, it's a fully immersive virtual reality experience that allows you to strap on a proton pack and walk through a virtual Ghostbusters world, interacting with your surroundings, and letting you bust some heads - in a spiritual sense, of course. Listen to Troy and Kelly's thoughts on the VR experience and how much they're creeped out by wax figures, this week on the Crossrip!
Hold on for a special two-hour episode this week as Troy and Chris bring you the latest news, then have a bit of a point/counterpoint on the State of the Ghostbusters Nation. Up first, the big news about the new Times Square experience brought to you by The Void and Madame Tussauds. Then we pay tribute to the recently passed Stephen Dane, hardware consultant on Ghostbusters who is responsible for so many of the iconic images you know and love to this day. News on the Fathom Events and BBQ Films screenings. Real Ghostbusters DVD re-release news. The latest Ghostbusters (2016) news: Chris Hemsworth talks the original film and Kevin, the four new leads talk the Google Science Fair and Paul Feig talks (a whole lot). Lots and lots of merchandise news from Mattel, Activision, Cryptozoic, LEGO Dimensions, talking about that possible Kevin Ecto-Mini spoiler, and more. Then, in our second hour of the show, Troy and Chris discuss the heated topic at hand: negativity, positivity, trolls, bullies, and a whole lot more. As the noise among the social networks grows louder and louder, it's time that the guys talked out a few of their thoughts on the current "State of the Ghostbusters Nation."
