GBIC_Instagram Ep509.jpg

This week on the show: marking the passage of Harold Ramis, Ghostbusters (2020) news, IDW and Fan Fest updates, and an examination on a recent article suggesting the latest film will not help revitalize the franchise. First up, the boys talk about Eugene Levy’s appearance at the Harold Ramis Film School in Chicago, the latest GB20 casting info (and yes, we’ll talk about the Finn Wolfhard and Carrie Coon news next week - sadly, it hit the morning after we recorded), updates on Ghostbusters’ crossover with Transformers, and some clarity on a few questions Wizard World has answered for Fan Fest. Then, the major discussion this week is dedicated to a recent movie blog article listing five reasons the author believes the new movie won’t be the jolt the franchise needs to continue. Chris and Troy beg to differ (and end up talking quite a bit about Bill Murray because of it).

First up, some discussion about an unconfirmed “exclusive” scoop about Ghostbusters (2020)’s production start date. Is there merit to it? Is there room for doubt? In fact, are we taking too many things at face value at the moment? The boys have an in-depth conversation (that’s awfully similar to one had three years ago at this point in the production timeline). The Ghostbusters social media account caused quite a stir, Troy and Chris will tell you why. And then some talk about the show-stopping reveal that’s more than meets the eye - an Ecto-1/Transformer has become reality.

And how did it eventually come to Ray Parker Jr. to write and record a demo in less than 72 hours? All of these questions and more will be answered in our third installment of Tobin’s Audio Guide!

#440 - "Lost Episode: Halloween Companions Part II" - October 15, 2018

GBIC_Instagram Ep440.jpg

This week on the show, a lost episode (kinda)! Two weeks ago, we played your voicemails where you gave your suggestions for Halloween viewing that works as a companion film to Ghostbusters. Your suggestions were so great, Troy and Chris talked a FULL ADDITIONAL HOUR about each of the films that came up. It overstuffed the episode too much, so we decided to split it off and make it stand alone. Army of Darkness, The Frighteners, Midnight Hour, Second Sight, and just why is Harold Ramis given a special thanks in the Jim Carrey movie, The Mask? The boys tackle all those subjects and more!
