GBIC_Instagram Ep733.jpg

This week on the show, catching up on the news and then taking a deep dive into the newly officially released Ghostbusters II score by Randy Edelman (and as a bonus, our first listen to the Ghostbusters Afterlife score). First up in the news, a merch round-up of biblical proportions: Hasbro Plasma Series Wave 2 figures are hitting shelves, as are family sized boxes of Ghostbusters cereal, tons of halloween costume offerings, and a whole lot more. No, we won’t talk about those images that circulated around the internet last week and we’ll tell you why. Then in the second half of the show, we’re diving into the first listen to Rob Simonsen’s score to Ghostbusters Afterlife as heard in a promotional piece on the official Ghostbusters social platforms and using that as a way into talking about Sony Masterworks’ outstanding release of the Ghostbusters II score. After 32 years of waiting, we have a clean and official listen to the score which answers some questions, opens up a few new puzzles and more. Join us as we talk through some of the tracks, lay one or two of them over the film to see where they may have gone, and a whole lot more!

This week on the show, Ectomobiles are showing up in Apple Maps and we’re diving into the back catalog of Discogs! First up, in the news we remember a few fallen friends in our lives, explore a few Apple Maps locations in Alberta that are snapshots in time of Ghostbusters: Afterlife filming, and a merch item or two. Then in the second half of the show, we’re going through all the rarities, b-sides, and alternative versions that spark to us on a search of Discogs. What are the instrumental versions we didn’t know existed out there? Want to hear parts of a few of them? Stay tuned!

#538 - "Conspicuously Old Fashioned" - September 23, 2019

GBIC_Instagram Ep538.jpg

This week on the show, some Ghostbusters (2020) developments, merch news, and a discussion topic that makes us feel old (what doesn’t, at this point?). First up, merch news including a Mondo soundtrack release, Cakeworthy clothes, NYCC Diamond Select exclusives, and some video game news including Left For Dead 2 DLC up for sale. Then, in our first Ghostbusters (2020) segment in a long time, Ivan Reitman and Dan Aykroyd were at Halloween Horror Nights in Hollywood and Entertainment Tonight may have gotten them to spill a few (spoilerific beans) including who Paul Rudd might be playing in the new film. And, Dan appeared on the Joe Rogan podcast confirming something that we already knew - but it set the internet abuzz. In the last segment of this week’s show, Troy and Chris explore the anachronisms of Ghostbusters. Things that have been phased out that the new generation of fans will never understand. Check the card catalog for the episode’s location and join us, won’t you? Plus - stay tuned to the very end for a fun contest, Stewart-style!

#227 - Andrew Shaffer/"Ghosts From Our Past" and Erik Burnham "Tobin's Spirit Guide" - June 27, 2016

It's our last proper show before Troy and Chris will see a new Ghostbusters movie so it's a jam-packed one. Up first, catching up on the news including a new animated series called Ghostbusters: Ecto-Force in the works, talking about the full Ghostbusters (2016) soundtrack track listing, Dan Aykroyd stops by Jay Leno's Garage and takes a spin in the new Ectomobile, the new GB cast stops by Graham Norton's Show, and then a "really quick" rundown of merch including Chris' first-hand experience with the new Activision Ghostbusters game. Then stay tuned for our author-centric interviews with Andrew Shaffer, who has "Ghosts From Our Past" coming out tomorrow and Erik Burnham author of "Tobin's Spirit Guide" in stores now and IDW Comics' Ghostbusters International on shelves monthly! (Note: Jackée Harry will not be featured in this episode of 227).
