On the press tour for Mission Impossible, writer/director Drew Pearce was hit up (again) about his work on Ghostbusters that was abandoned, and had some interesting comments. Finally, we're remembering Terry Windell of ILM and Boss Films who passed last week at the age of 61, the pioneer who was known for his memorable lightning effects in Ghostbusters and Return of the Jedi left a lasting impression that Troy and Chris discuss. This week, we conclude our book club discussion with the Ontario Ghostbusters on Violet Ramis Stiel's "Ghostbuster's Daughter!" That's right, in the last book club episode we discussed the first 100 pages, this go-round, we'll finish off the book which touches on production of the Ghostbusters films, Harold's later career, Violet having children of her own, and the unfortunate circumstances of Harold's passing. The 35th Anniversary has officially begun (sorta) thanks to the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas. This week on the show, we'll explore the information coming out of the show including new licensors, returning favorites, and some hints of what may be coming for Ghostbusters Day NEXT year already. Also this week, the Ghostbusters website is about to get a makeover for the anniversary to be revealed on Ghostbusters Day. What could it mean? Chris unearthed a laserdisc player and was able to dig into a Japanese visual effects disc featuring Richard Edlund and the Boss Films crew, and a fundraising outdoor screening of the original Ghostbusters film is coming to New Jersey.
